When should my newborn's first pediatrician visit be?
We recommend seeing your newborn within 2-3 days after hospital discharge, or within 48 hours if your baby had jaundice, feeding difficulties, or was discharged early. This first visit includes a weight check, feeding assessment, and jaundice screening.
What vaccines does my child need and when?
The CDC and AAP publish a recommended immunization schedule from birth through age 18. Key vaccine series begin at 2 months of age and continue through adolescence. We follow the standard schedule and will discuss each vaccine's purpose, timing, and safety with you.
How do I know if my child's development is on track?
We screen for developmental milestones at every well-child visit using validated tools. If we identify any delays in speech, motor skills, or social development, we connect you with early intervention services. The earlier concerns are addressed, the better the outcomes.
When should I take my child to the ER vs. calling your office?
Call our office first for most concerns — we can often see your child the same day or provide phone guidance. Go to the ER for life-threatening situations: difficulty breathing, seizures, severe allergic reactions, head injuries with loss of consciousness, or high fevers in infants under 3 months.
Do you offer sports physicals?
Yes, we provide pre-participation sports physicals for all school-age athletes. We recommend scheduling these during your annual well-child visit when possible, as the comprehensive exam covers everything needed for athletic clearance plus routine preventive care.
