At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial evaluation by age 7. This doesn't mean treatment starts that early â most children begin between 11-13. Early evaluation lets us identify issues that benefit from timely intervention.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Average treatment time is 12-24 months, depending on the complexity of your case. Simple alignment issues may take as little as 6 months, while complex bite corrections can take up to 30 months. We'll give you a specific timeline at your consultation.
Is Invisalign as effective as braces?
For most cases, yes. Invisalign has advanced significantly and can treat crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, and crossbites effectively. Very complex cases involving jaw surgery or significant tooth rotation may still be better suited for traditional braces.
How much does orthodontic treatment cost?
Treatment costs vary from $3,500 to $7,000 depending on complexity and type of appliance. Most dental insurance plans cover a portion of orthodontic treatment for children. We offer complimentary consultations and interest-free payment plans.
Will braces hurt?
You may feel mild pressure and soreness for 3-5 days after braces are placed and after each adjustment. Over-the-counter pain relievers and a soft food diet easily manage any discomfort. Most patients say it's far more comfortable than they expected.
