How often does an aquarium need maintenance?
Freshwater tanks typically need a 25% water change and maintenance every 1-2 weeks. Saltwater and reef systems need weekly attention to maintain stable water chemistry. Our maintenance plans start at bi-weekly visits, with weekly service recommended for reef tanks.
Can you maintain an aquarium I already have?
Absolutely. We take over maintenance on existing tanks all the time. We will do an initial assessment of your system, water parameters, and equipment condition, then recommend a service plan. If any equipment needs upgrading, we will provide an honest assessment of what is critical versus what can wait.
What size tank do you recommend for beginners?
Contrary to what most people think, larger tanks (40-55 gallons) are actually easier for beginners because water parameters are more stable in larger volumes. Nano tanks under 20 gallons require more frequent maintenance and are less forgiving of mistakes. We will help you choose the right size for your space and experience level.
