How often should I get a massage?
For general wellness and stress management, once a month is a great baseline. For chronic pain or athletic recovery, every 2-3 weeks is more effective. We'll recommend a schedule based on your needs.
What's the difference between deep tissue and Swedish massage?
Swedish massage uses lighter, flowing strokes for relaxation. Deep tissue uses slower, more intense pressure to reach deeper muscle layers. Swedish is great for stress; deep tissue is better for chronic pain and tightness.
Should I eat before a massage?
A light meal or snack 1-2 hours beforehand is fine. Avoid heavy meals immediately before your session, as lying on a full stomach can be uncomfortable. Hydrate well before and after.
Is massage safe during pregnancy?
Yes, when performed by a trained prenatal massage therapist. We use specialized positioning and avoid certain pressure points. Prenatal massage is generally safe after the first trimester — consult your OB if you have a high-risk pregnancy.
What should I do after my massage?
Drink plenty of water to help flush metabolic waste released during the massage. Avoid intense exercise for 24 hours. Some soreness after deep tissue work is normal and should resolve within a day or two.
