Does acupuncture hurt?
Most patients describe a mild tingling, heaviness, or warmth at the needle site — not pain. Acupuncture needles are hair-thin (about 1/40th the diameter of a standard blood-draw needle). Many patients are so relaxed during sessions that they fall asleep.
How many sessions will I need before I see results?
Acute conditions often respond within 1-3 sessions. Chronic conditions typically require 6-12 sessions for lasting improvement. Most patients notice some change after the first visit. We reassess progress regularly and adjust your treatment plan accordingly.
Is acupuncture covered by insurance?
Many insurance plans now cover acupuncture for chronic pain — especially since the NIH endorsed it. We accept most major insurance plans and verify your coverage before your first visit. We also offer affordable self-pay packages.
Is acupuncture safe?
When performed by a licensed acupuncturist, acupuncture is extremely safe. We use single-use, sterile, disposable needles. Side effects are rare and typically limited to minor bruising. It's recognized as safe by the WHO and NIH.
Can acupuncture help with conditions not listed on your website?
